About the event

To honour World AIDS Day, Folkestone Pride is partnering with NHS Kent Community Health Trust to offer a free, confidential rapid HIV testing walk-in. No appointment needed, just drop by!

This event is open to all. It’s a judgement-free, supportive environment where everyone is welcome. Testing is quick, free, and confidential, and contraceptives and sexual health advice will also be available at no cost.

Why come? Some key points

  • In England in 2024, there were 2,773 new HIV diagnoses. Among these, 29% were gay and bisexual men, 23% heterosexual men, and 27% heterosexual women (gov.uk)

  • Testing uptake remains lower among heterosexual men and women compared with gay and bisexual men, meaning many people may be living unaware of their status (gov.uk)

  • Regular testing is a key part of lowering stigma and making good sexual health accessible for all. When testing becomes normal, it becomes easier for everyone to stay safe and supported
