Our Trustees
Our Board of Trustees is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers who work to ensure that Folkestone Pride remains inclusive, representative, and reflective of the full diversity of our LGBTQIA+ community. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise, guiding the charity’s commitments and overseeing key decisions presented by our volunteer committee. Their leadership helps us raise awareness, advocate for equality, and campaign for the freedoms that allow every LGBTQIA+ person in our district to live openly, safely, and on truly equal footing.
Adam Jeanes
Board Chair
Adam is a director at Arts Council England, with extensive experience across the arts, music, events and festival sectors. A longstanding LGBT+ rights campaigner, he was Chair of The Pride Trust, which organised London’s annual LGBT Pride event, and an early member of OutRage! and ACT UP. He remains a committed advocate for LGBT+ rights, culture and community.

Fernanda is a social entrepreneur and Founder of Treat Me Right CIC and Co-founder of Folkeshare CIC. She specialises in economic abuse, strategy, governance, business development and grant funding. As a trustee of Folkestone Pride, she is passionate about the power of community-led change.

Abena Akuffo-Kelly
Trustee
Abena is a community-driven local councillor, former Mayor and Council Chair, with a strong commitment to inclusion and public service. A leadership, AI and inclusion coach, trainer and charity founder, she brings extensive experience across local and national organisations.
She is passionate about community cohesion, sustainability and creating meaningful social change.

Daniel Laws

Born to a Folkestone fisherman, Dan (Dita Garbo) is a Drag Race UK alumni, LGBT Foundation ambassador and entertainment professional with over 30 years of experience.
Using their platform to champion pride in ageing, cross-generational connection and equality for all.
